Mermaid Perfume

Hey there princess!

I recently purchased Mermaid Perfume from the Anthropologie website after reading a review on Briar Rose Blog. It is perhaps the most beautiful thing I've worn, and I am so glad I took a leap of faith and purchased it scent un-smelled.
The scent is really floral, and reminds me of spending summers in the garden as a child with my mother. I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself if you're looking for something for spring/summer outside of the standard CK One Summer or Ralph Lauren Big Pony, which are both nice, but rather over-done.
I'm highly considering trying out their shampoo line (because who doesn't want mermaid hair?), so let me know what you are loving fragrance-wise for spring and summer, because I'd love to give it a whiff myself!

Let's Get Fizzical

Hey there princess!
I recently made a little trip to my local Lush, and just had to splurge! I have never tried their hair products before, but after reading Briar Rose Blog's writeup about how she keeps her locks silky-smooth I had to give it a go!

I got their Rehab shampoo, and not only does it smell divine, but my scalp has that amazing tingly feeling after I use it. So clean! So fresh!

Then I used their Jasmine and Henna Fluff-Eaze, which is pretty much the best hair-mask I've ever used. After using both of these, my hair (which is naturally curly, and usually dry and frizzy) was soft, silky, and rivaled that of any Disney princess. Seriously.

Last on my shopping list was the Space Girl bath bomb which smells like blackcurrant and fizzes up in the tub at warp-speed. Plus it's glittery!!!
Head on over to your local Lush and check out all of the fun things that they have in store!

In the Golden Afternoon

Hey there Princess!
Over spring break I got the chance to spend some time with my little sister at our local botanical gardens. It is so beautiful to get to watch everything turn from brown to green, and with such delightful company, I had way too much fun!

I always feel a little bit like Mary Lennox from "The Secret Garden" when I'm in this place. There is always something new to discover.

Where nature and technology meet.

Two Tickets to Paradise

One of my favorite things to do on a weekend is pull out my fanciest dishes and cook something delicious (and often swimming in butter).
This past month, I have seriously fallen in love with Anthropologie's newest line of china. Their "From the Deep" set has inky sea creatures swimming here and there, looking like they might just steal a morsel off of your plate (plus they're dishwasher and microwave safe... which seals the deal for me).
I lucked out, and my main man (aka my dad), was free for the evening, so I got to cook him up our favorite meal: Louisiana shrimp. Here are a few photos of our evening, and the recipe for the shrimp if you would like to make it for yourselves!

Ingredients:
1 lb butter
1 16 oz bottle Italian dressing
Juice of 4 lemons
2 oz black pepper
4 pounds large shrimp, unpeeled
- Melt butter and mix with dressing, lemon juice, and pepper.
- Pour sauce over shrimp and marinate several hours. (I top with slices of lemon)
- Bake 40 minutes at 325 degrees.
Serve with lots of sauce and even more napkins!
